We-Vibe survey: Who knew household appliances could be so sexy?

A new global survey from We-Vibe, the leading manufacturer of app-controllable vibrators, shows just how creative the erotic fantasies of many people working from home can get. Sex tech in German households: Spin dry, please!

What do you think of when you think of your washing machine? Annoying housework? For sure. But that’s not all. A recent survey of 1,000 Germans has shown that the washing machine is the household appliance that sexually most appeals to Germans. Around 22 percent of the respondents indicated that they would like to test the “spin cycle”. So far, however, only one in ten Germans has turned theory into practice. While a third of the survey participants has used the showerhead for purposes other than intended and agreed that it offers a special kind of pleasure – 26 percent of men and 33 percent of women love this variant.

Oooooh, Alexa! Why not have sex with the voice assistant?

The workplace appears in the erotic fantasies of many people. Two-thirds of German women say they have dreamed of something steamy in the office; for men it is 77 percent. But what about when working from home without any colleagues? After a long period of isolation, voice assistants seem to be a viable alternative for sexual fantasies. According to the survey, one in three Germans would “jump into bed” with Alexa; with Siri it is 12 percent.

Autonomous driving: Oh, drive me crazy …

Self-driving cars have still not been approved for road traffic in this Germany, but it’s probably only a matter of time. While good old car sex only excites around 19 percent of Germans, it seems autonomous driving really sparks desire. Almost every other German would use the freedom and time gained in a self-driving car for sex and masturbation. Fun fact: People from smaller federal states are particularly interested in using their travel time more effectively – i.e. for sex and masturbation. Bremen is the leader here (77 percent), followed by Saarland (64 percent).

It all comes down to the tech

Technology beats size – and it only gets really good when it vibrates. Smart sex toys. Almost half of the Germans who took part in the survey stated that they want to buy a smart toy to boost their lovemaking with their partner. The 41-45-year-old demographic in particular are into this technology: 57 percent expect a positive change in their lovemaking with the support of a smart toy. While over a quarter of Germans already use such toys on a regular basis. Particularly popular are products that can be connected and controlled with an app.
